Beyond the Wall's Cover - and a Launch Party!

27 hours ago, Beyond the Wall's cover was sitting on my best friend's desk as she touched it up with watercolor paints and pens.

Tonight, my proof copy is printing in Tennessee, on track to be at my house by Friday.

Last night, publishing grew to a climax. In the four and a half hours between 7:30pm and midnight last night, Beyond the Wall went from a PDF file and a painting to a real book backed by metadata and an ISBN on Bowker and IngramSpark.

The hard part is over.

This afternoon, I approved the eproof file and ordered two proof copies. When I get the proof copies, I'll read one aloud to myself and my parents will read the other. Once we're done and we've caught any errors with the manuscript, I'll make those changes in the documents and re-upload the files. Once I approve the eproof of that, Beyond the Wall will be up for presale.

Only 24 days until it's yours.

Talitha did an amazing job on both of them. She'll be redoing The Otherfolk's cover soon, too, so you can finally have a real illustrated cover version of both books (and they'll match!).

And along with that, here's your official invitation to my launch party! The launch party is open to the public, and there are no fees to attend (unless you want to purchase a book). I'll have copies of Beyond the Wall available for $15 and I'm willing to sign them or your copies of The Otherfolk! I may even be able to have copies of The Otherfolk with a new cover available. We'll have snacks, games, and music, and I'm sure it'll be plenty of fun! Here are the details:

It is November, and if it's too cold or rainy, we'll move it to my house (we'll have a sign at the park with a number to text/call).
